Mandoleto Nero d’Avola Sicilia
Nero d’Avola is Sicily’s key red, and rarely does it come as impressive as this at such a price. A savoury and textural wine of black plums, black cherries and liquorice, layered with dried herbs and finely structured tannins. A touch of brettanomyces (barrel yeast infection) adds gamey complexity and a metallic texture to the finish, but at this price you can’t have everything!
