Vosne-Romanée is home to such fabled names as Méo-Camuzet and Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, two of the most revered names in pinot noir on the planet. Value for money in this celebrated village is a different story, hence I was delighted to discover Francois Feuillet for the first time recently. Yes, it’s a three digit price tag, but in the grand scheme of Vosne, this is great value for money, with a gorgeous core of black cherry and violet fruit, refined, silky, mineral tannins and well-composed oak support. It has the structural confidence to age for the medium-term. We can’t all drink DRC every birthday, but here’s a respectable substitute.
