A night with Franck Bonville’s Olivier Bonville – Chez vous! 29 May 2020
It’s our great pleasure to invite you to welcome one of the celebrated growers of Champagne to a tasting at your place! Olivier Bonville is the third generation of his family to tend the vines and craft the champagnes of his family estate in the fabled grand cru of Avize.
Olivier’s family has been growing grand cru grapes on the Côte des Blancs for more than a century, and bottling their own champagnes since 1947. Their old 1936 press still stands in pride of place on display in their house in Avize, purchased by his grandfather in 1937, complete with press, oak casks and five levels of glorious nineteenth-century chalk cellars.
Olivier is privileged to 20 glorious hectares of prime grand cru turf, largely in Avize, with old vines on the slope of Oger and a little in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Cramant. Tended sustainably and vinified with precision, his polished blanc de blancs contrasts the tension and brilliance of Avize with the generosity and exoticism of Oger.
Our evening with Olivier is the ultimate opportunity to hear the stories and connect with a man who crafts every facet of his cuvées, from an environmental approach across his 77 plots of vines, to a fanatical approach in the cellar.

As soon as you register, you will receive a download link with instructions for joining the Zoom webinar and a list of retailers across Australia who stock these and other Franck Bonville cuvées, should you wish to purchase a bottle or two for the occasion. Olivier will also share insights into his other cuvées that you might wish to pop.
When you register, there will be opportunity for you to share with us which cuvée you’ll be drinking when you tune in, the names of anyone else who’ll be joining you on the same device, and any questions you’d like to ask Olivier.
