Champagne: Auctioning the World’s Finest
I’m very excited to announce that my inaugural auction Champagne: Auctioning the World’s Finest is now live with Langtons! The line-up is breathtaking and would have to be the most significant ever presented in Australia.
Set to be the largest single-region auction in Langtons’ 37-year history and the biggest champagne auction in this country, there’s something here for everyone, from all your favourite NVs for the festive season to the rarest cuvées and the most collectable vintages of the past seven decades!
Many houses have plundered the depths of their cellars to submit large formats and museum vintages.
The auction features three methuselahs including Rare Champagne 2002 and 15 magnums including Salon 1971, Krug Clos du Mesnil 1992, Krug Vintage 1996 and 1998, Bollinger La Grande Année 1989, Veuve Clicquot Vintage 1969, Piper-Heidsieck Vintage 1982, Femme de Champagne 2002 and Billecart-Salmon Elisabeth 2008.
More than 400 bottles include 13 bottles of Salon 1996, Dom Pérignon 1970, 1971, 1973, 1975, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1992, 1996, P3 1976 and Rosé 1982, Krug Clos du Mesnil 1981, 2003 and 2004, Clos d’Ambonnay 2002, Collection 1985 and Vintage 1981 and 2002, Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 1966, Bollinger R.D. 1979, Vieilles Vignes Françaises 2007 and La Grande Année 1990 (5 bottles), Pol Roger Vintage 1976, 1990 and 1995 and Sir Winston 1990, Philipponnat Clos des Goisses 1992 and LV 1996, Dom Ruinart 1996, Lanson Collection 1985, Egly-Ouriet Millésime 2002 and 2008, Billecart-Salmon Nicolas François 2002, Pierre Peters Les Chétillons 2008 and many, many more!
