Jacob’s Creek Steingarten Riesling

Steingarten is built for the long-haul and will likely prove to go down as the most enduring of the Eden Valley’s 2013s. Don’t be enticed by its alluring perfume of fragrant lemon and lime blossom, this is a wine not to be approached for at least a decade. The palate delivers powerful and precise fruit definition of lime and granny smith apple, cut with a taut razor edge of searing acidity that defines a solidly proportioned and enduring Steingarten. The phenolic presence of the season tucks neatly into its folds, lingering with impressive persistence, great presence and well-focused acid line. $20 at Cellarmasters (2011).
